The Law Day, which will take place on August 9 and 10, 2019, on the Georgia State University College of Law's campus, has been designed for incoming and current Latino law students. This year, we will also host a pre-law track for those who are interested in attending law school.
On Friday, the day's session will consist of a dynamic and hands-on workshops and panels that will guide law students in creating an action plan they can follow through their law school career to ensure they are on the path to getting the job they want. Plus, we will host our fourth Speed Networking event. This has always been a favorite for lawyers and law students and you don't want to miss it!
After the day program, a reception will be held where members of the legal community and law students will have the chance to interact, discover mentoring opportunities, and grow their networks.
Day two will be focused on achieving academic excellence. In the morning, 1Ls and LLM students will receive an introduction to law school by GSU Professor Kendall Kerew. This session, now in its fourth year, has been lauded as one of the best ways to prepare for the first year of law school! It will provide participants an opportunity to discuss their law school expectations, hear a professor's perspective on being successful in law school, and learn valuable insight on effective class and exam preparation, note taking, case briefing, legal writing, and more. A separate track for current law students will build upon last year's program and will touch on everything from legal writing to successful exam preparation.
We hope you can join us!
