8:30 am :: 1L Registration
9:00 - 12:00 pm :: The Ins and Outs of a Successful Law School Career
GSU COL Professor Kendall Kerew will provide incoming 1Ls with an open and informal forum to explore the ins and outs of law schools. Topics covered will include preparing for class, effective outlining and exam preparation, best use of study groups, introduction to case briefing and legal writing, and more.
12:00 pm :: Current and LLM Student Registration
12:20 - 2:00 pm :: Lunch and Learn with Current Law Students
Incoming and current law students from all participating law schools will have an opportunity to meet each other and participate in break out groups focused on exchanging ideas and experiences related to law school, legal internships, and what to expect beyond law school.
2:00 pm :: De-engineering the Legal Resume
Attorneys Cristina Leon will lead a dynamic presentation on creating an action plan law students can follow to ensure they are competitive in the legal market for internships, clerkships and jobs after graduation.
3:00 pm :: Speed Networking Session
Student participants will be broken up into groups. Each group will spend an allotted number of minutes per practice area table. At each table, students will have the opportunity to meet practicing attorneys and learn about their different practice areas, their career paths and their keys to success.
4:00 pm :: Key Note Speakers
Judge Dean Bucci, Paulding County State Court, and Judge Dax E. López, DeKalb County State Court.
