ATLANTA – The Georgia Latino Law Foundation (“GLLF”) announced today that Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP (“Kilpatrick Townsend”) and partner, Adria Perez, are both, once again, Silver Level sponsors supporting GLLF and its law student initiatives. GLLF Fellowships will be named after Kilpatrick Townsend & Adria Perez. The GLLF Fellows will intern at a Georgia non-profit organization providing legal services to the Latino community during the Summer of 2017. The fellowships will allow the law students to gain substantive legal experience while providing an invaluable service to the community. 2017 Foundation Fellows will be recognized at a Fellowship Luncheon to be held on April 18, 2017, at Kilpatrick Townsend’s Atlanta office.
GLLF’s mission is to increase diversity in the legal profession by supporting the Latino legal community pipeline. In addition, GLLF seeks to increase the Latino community's access to the legal system by educating and empowering Latinos to join the legal profession. GLLF’s vision is provide a pathway to success for Latinos interested in the legal profession through pre-law education, mentoring, and substantive legal experience opportunities to provide them with the necessary tools, preparation and relationships in order to encourage them to enter the practice of law and to guide them to success in law school and beyond. Ms. Perez focuses her practice on representing both corporations and individuals in white collar
criminal defense matters, government enforcement issues, as well as internal, criminal and SEC investigations. Her experience includes handling issues relating to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act (including government contracting, healthcare, and tax matters), Civil Investigative Demands, and export enforcement. Ms. Perez assists clients in responding to inquiries from and government investigations conducted by the DOJ, SEC, OCC, and Office of Inspector General from a variety of federal agencies. She also counsels clients on developing and strengthening compliance programs and policies.
